Officers' Service Awards (10 / 20 / 30 / 40 years) are now available through the GB HQ Main Office and no longer the Supplies Department - Please fill out the OFFICER SERVICE AWARD FORM and send with separate payment (i.e. not included in a Supplies Order cheque) to GB HQ. The self-certification process will rely on honesty and trust with occasional spot checks and all data regarding dates, etc, will be recorded on the GB Database. Please allow up to 6 weeks for Service Awards to be processed. Thank you.

AWARDS FROM OUTSIDE AGENCIES

MILLENNIUM VOLUNTEER AWARD - for ages 16 - 25

Congratulations to everyone who received their 50, 100 & 200 hours MV certificates at the Girls' Brigade Award ceremony on Friday 5 June 2009. Together you represented a very impressive 13600 hours of service given by GB members (aged 16 - 25) to their communities.

The Millennium Volunteer Award recognises the service given by GB members (aged 16 - 25) to their community through The Girls' Brigade in Scotland, be it company service, the service section of the Queen's Award or the volunteering section of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Recognising hours of service at 50, 100 and 200 hours

GB in Scotland is currently piloting the MV Volunteering passport with 7 companies throughout Scotland to smooth out any application and processing problems in the on-line administration for this scheme. The Millenium Volunteering Award Scheme will then hopefully be opened up to all GB companies in Scotland in 2010.

Full details of the scheme and how to apply through The Girls' Brigade in Scotland will be published on this website and sent to Companies as soon as it is available. In the meantime if you wish to know more about the scheme, please visit the Millenium Volunteer website or contact GB HQ.

Hannah Wyse of the 25th Edinburgh & Lothians Company is seen here receiving her 100 Hours Millennium Volunteer Passport Certificate from John Loughton (from Big Brother) at a presention in St George's West Church, Edinburgh, on 21 April 2009.

The 25th E & L was one of the companies chosen to pilot the on-line scheme for GB. Hannah is the first of the new lot of volunteers, who registered their voluntary service completely on-line, to receive this for GB.
