The Girls Guildry

The Girls' Guildry was a Church-centred organisation founded in Scotland in 1900 providing programmes for four age groups. Its varied activities were aimed at helping Girls to become mature Christian women.

5 - 7 YEARS

Plain colour beret, overall of regulation pattern (long or short sleeve) & badge (worn on beret or overall)

The colour and material of the overall was determined locally, bearing in mind the flower or bird.

  • Rosebuds - red dress or pinafore with red beret
  • Daffodils - yellow overall with green collar and pale green beret
  • Robins - red overall and brown beret
  • Snowdrops - pale green overall with white collar and white beret

SOMERVILLE CUMMING BUCKLE AND BELT

The Somerville Cumming Buckle and Belt was awarded to Maid of Honour, Maid of Merit, Maid, Assistant Guardian and Honoury Secretary and was awarded for Service and attendance at both Company and Sunday School.

In 1942 members of the Service Company would also receive this award.

QUEEN ELIZABETH BROOCH

The Queen Elizabeth Brooch was awarded on the personal recommendation of the Guardian and Church and a minimum of seven proficiency subjects
