JUNIORS

WHAT DO JUNIORS DO? ....WHAT DO THEY NOT DO?!

Juniors are busy people, there's no doubt about it! They meet every week to chat; laugh; see their friends and make new ones; they dance; sing; act; talk; listen; bake; cook; craft; play games; get tangled up in maze marching and drill; conquer challenges; see and experience new things, find out about the world and themselves; and learn of God's love. They have coffee mornings, go on trips, sleepovers and camps, take part in competitions, have parties, put on displays and entertain audiences, help people and fundraise for charities: and through all this gain confidence, new skills, learn self control and respect for themselves and others..........what do they not do?!

JUNIOR BADGES

The Juniors work for four badges, a Junior circle in Primary 4 and another one in Primary 5, then a light blue diamond in Primary 6 and a dark blue diamond in Primary 7. They can wear the badges they earned in the Explorer section, (bronze, silver and gold star), and also their service award which shows how many years they've been in Girls' Brigade, red for Company attendance and blue for Company and Church (Sunday School or Club) attendance. The title of the Company they belong to is placed at the bottom of their armband.

How do Juniors earn their badges?
Each year Juniors work for their badge on topics from each of the four sections, Spiritual, Physical, Educational and Service, this results in a mixed programme of various activities.

What kind of topics can Juniors do for badgework?

Well, under each of the headings there's lots, depending on your Leaders talents, (which with GB Officers are always many!) and which facilities you have nearby. Just a few of the topics you could be doing are.....

Spiritual - Angels and the Christmas story; Let your light shine; It's a miracle; Ask, seek & knock; Easter through symbols.......

Physical - Fun on wheels; Circus skills; Rambling; Sports skills; Team games; Swimming; Ball games; Marching to music......

Educational - Tasty treats; Communications; Exploring Europe; Night sky, Puppets; Time travellers; Under the sea, Cooking.....

Service - Helping others; Domestic survival; Charities; Entertaining an audience; We need them, they need us; Community service......
