| HOW TO BECOME A GIRLS' BRIGADE AUXILIARY HELPER |
Information for Brigaders & Warrant Officers If you wish to become an Auxiliary Helper, you should tell the Captain of your Company , who will then arrange for you to complete an RM1 Form, which will lead to you providing the names of two referees and an interview with the Chaplain of your Company. Following successful completion of this the Church will arrange for you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland Check. When a satisfactory disclosure result has been received by your Church, the Captain and Chaplain will complete and date the RM1 Form which will then be returned to GB HQ with a Name Badge Application Form. (For Church of Scotland Companies, this is all you're required to submit. For all other denominations a letter of verification in respect of the disclosure check, needs to be submitted.) You cannot become an Auxiliary Helper until you are 18 years old, however you can set all the paperwork in motion before your 18th Birthday and continue to give Company Service as a Brigader or Warrant Officer up until your 18th Birthday. If you are 18 or over, you are considered an adult and you cannot work with girls, even in a supervised capacity, until an acceptable Enhanced Disclosure Scotland Check result has been received by the Church. Once the disclosure check is cleared you must apply for a name badge, (as above) from GB Supplies showing your name, Company and rank - AUXILIARY HELPER and this should be worn at all times when working with the girls. ...
