Disclosure Check

An Enhanced Disclosure Check is necessary to work with children in any capacity for any individual over the age of 18.

You can not legally work with children if you do not have a satisfactory Disclosure Check received by the church that your company is affiliated with.

A Disclosure Check is always made when someone joins the Girls Brigade in a leading capacity. It is a necessary part of the process, ensures the safety of the girls you would be working with and gives you the legal protection necessary when working with Children.

You should be contacted by your church's Child Protection Co-Coordinator (He or She won't always have this exact title but it should be obvious who S/he is) who will be your intermediary in the process; S/he will be the one to give you the Disclosure Check forums, submit those forms in your stead and be your first port of call when you have any enquiries in regards to Child Protection.

You can learn more about Disclosure Checks from the Disclosure Scotland Website.
