A representative from EVERY GBS COMPANY is required to complete the online form below, no later than Friday 2nd February 2018 to specify whether or not you will be using the one place that has been allocated to your company for attendance at the Explorer Programme Launch.
**Please note that ALL companies can now reserve a maximum of 2 additional places for this event at a cost of £20.00 per person which includes participation in four workshops, all refreshments and lunch. Additional places can be reserved until Wednesday 28th February 2018 and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please use the registration form below to book and pay for all additional places.**
As advised in the August 2017 Executive Report the new Explorer Programme material will be launched at the COSLA Conference Centre, Edinburgh on Saturday 19th May 2018. The new Explorer material will replace the current and ALL former programme books and will be the official Explorer Programme for Girls' Brigade Scotland from the beginning of the 2018-19 session. The material will be created as a full on-line version together with an Explorer Programme A4 binder which will contain essential information for users together with relevant templates and a set of section dividers to allow companies to print off materials and build their own bespoke resource.
The Explorer Programme Launch will showcase some of the many wonderful opportunities that are open to our youngest members via the new programme material and each GBS company is currently being allocated one place at this event for a leader who works directly with Explorers within their company. Commissioners will also receive a separate invite to attend this event.
There will be nine different workshops running over four sessions during the day meaning that each person present will be able to attend four of the nine available options. Where possible attendees will be allocated to workshops according to preference on a first come first served basis. You are therefore asked to provide your preferred options in order from 1st to 9th choice.
(Please note that depending on the popularity and capacities of each workshop, it may not be possible to allocate everyone to their first four preferred options.)
The subsidised cost for attending this day is £25.00 which includes participation in four workshops, all refreshments, lunch, one programme folder for your company and an online access code. If you do intend to use your company's allocated place payment is due at the time of registering below and can be taken electronically by completing the online payment process or by selecting during this process that you will be paying by cheque, which must then be sent to GB HQ within 7 days.
Companies that are not represented at the Explorer Programme Launch event will still be required to purchase and use the new Explorer programme material and will therefore be sent this and invoiced directly after the event at a cost of £30.00 per resource which includes all postage and packaging.
Please note that there are no onsite parking facilities at the COSLA Conference Centre however the centre is located directly next to Haymarket Train Station. You are therefore advised that if attending this event to travel by train where possible.
